Oh nothing much. Origins is out. Lady Dorn is out. Oh, wait. I do have some news!
See, my publisher had this extraordinarily awesome idea. See, kids today are at a disadvantage. They have too many distractions. School. Homework. Television. Karate. Soccer. Dance. Underwater basketweaving. I swear to the gods, that kids have busier schedules than their parents (not really since we’re the poor bastards who have to taxi them everywhere). The real problem is with these schedules, kids hardly ever have a chance or desire to read anymore.
That’s where the idea of the Electric Shorts comes in. Parents are realizing the need for kids to read (hey, that rhymed).
What are electric shorts? No, they are not the kid version of an electronic bark collar (although that might not be a bad idea. Go do your homework! ~zap~).
Anyhoo, Electric Shorts are short stories DESIGNED with the reluctant reader in mind! A lot of parents spent hard earned money on eReaders for their chillens, hoping to get them interested. We is a here to oblige! You need to check out these stories for your kids. No long winded intros. No boring prose to lull them into sleep (again, not such a bad idea. They build up an immunity to Benadryl). But these stories are fun! Fast paced, action packed.
Here’s where my news comes in. See I have a gifted (I’m talking pull on the push door gifted) son. He’s 11 and hasn’t encountered a subject he couldn’t master. I asked him if he’d like to do some of these stories with me. Let’s just say, he was excited. And so after about twenty minutes of brainstorming, we came up with a steampunk series of shorts for reluctant readers. The Magnificent Steam Carnival of Professor Pelusian Minus was born!
The first of the series is out. Click the cover and it will take you to the page where you can download for every eReader and computer available on the market! The second will be out next month, the third the month after that, etc! We hope you enjoy them!
